On January 8, the US Department of Commerce announced the results of a new anti-dumping investigation on tires. The department initially identified that imports from Vietnam tires, there is no anti-dumping.
However, some enterprises did not participate in the investigation and were still determined to levy the anti-dumping rate of 22.3%
Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade points out that the preliminary finding of the anti-dumping investigation is more favorable to Vietnamese enterprises.Vietnam’s tyre exports, which have not been affected, account for about 95.5 % of its tire trade with the US.
And several other countries and regions, are currently levied high anti-dumping duties.
Going forward, the Trade Defence Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam will continue to work closely with the enterprises concerned in the final stages of anti-dumping investigations to ensure that the outcome is in favour of Vietnamese producers and exporters.
The US Department of Commerce is expected to issue the final anti-dumping ruling on the case on May 14, 2021.
Vietnam tire exports to the United States, still have good prospects.
