ITC REVIEW OF ASIAN TIRE "DOUBLEREVERSE" INVESTIGATION

The ITC said there were reasonable indications of “material injury” to the US tyre industry.

At the same time, they also concluded that the Vietnamese government subsidized the tire export business.

The ITC commission did not make public information about the voting process.

A specific report containing details of the investigation will be released in mid-August, it said

On May 13th the United Steelworkers (USW) filed a petition with the Us Department of Commerce (DOC).

It has applied for a “double reverse” investigation into tyre imports from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The scope of the investigation mainly includes passenger cars and light truck tires.

In mid-June, the Commerce Department voted to open the investigation.

Under the relevant regulations, the ITC is then required to submit a submission to the DOC to facilitate the investigation.

As originally planned, DOC would issue the preliminary finding of the anti-dumping investigation on 26 August;

On November 9th it released the preliminary findings of the anti-subsidy investigation.
